Frequently Asked Questions

How long will it take for my child to learn to swim?

We can’t give you an answer to this question because every child is different! Some children catch on super fast and others take a little longer and a lot more love. It all really depends on their level of fear in the water or with people they don’t know! They WILL learn to swim! Just be patient with them! It may take some time but we strive to get them learning as fast as possible! If you enroll in more frequent lessons (like fast track) then they will learn much faster!.

How do i get on the schedule?

To get on the schedule you may come to our website and register for classes. Once you register we will receive an email showing your info and we will contact you from there to add a class (if you are doing normal classes, not fast track). You may also contact us through messaging on any social media platform we are on, call/text us at (602) 541-1787, or you can email us at bluelagunaswim@gmail.com.

How many lessons a week do we need?

We leave this completely up to you! 1 day a week is completely fine! They still learn to swim, but more than once a week they will learn much faster

What will my child learn?

We teach the SmartFish Method which can be found at www.SmartFish method.com/our-method. We teach the child(ren) to love and appreciate the backfloat since that is where they go to get air. From there we build skills little by little until they can swim a short distance and rollover to recover for air before continuing to swim. You can see some examples on YouTube under Watersafe swim school. The goal is to get them to become one with the water and have no doubt they can swim safely.

Why are classes 15 minutes long?

Lessons are hard work for little children, therefore, their bodies get tired more quickly. Attention spans can also be super short at a young age. Most children who do 30 minute lessons (These are available if preferred) are already checked out halfway through the class. If it is their first time in lessons, you may have to hear some crying as it is a new experience for them. 15 minutes is less stressful for them then having to hear them cry for a full 30 minutes.

Once enrolled, How am I billed for lessons?

We require a card be on file. For Fast Track we do require a deposit to hold your spot upon registration of $200. Then the other $200 will be required on the first day of your lesson. For travel lessons we will charge by class since the weather is so unpredictable. If the instructor shows up and does a class that day, then you will be charged for that class only..

What happens if i need to cancel my class for the week?

(Travel Lessons)

If you need to cancel due to being sick or going on Vacation, We ask that you contact your instructor at least an hour before your class or earlier. That way your instructor isn’t already driving to you! Your class will be canceled for that week and you can either find a different day and time to make it up or just simply skip that week and resume the following week!

What happens if i need to cancel my class for the week?

(Fast Track)

If you are enrolled in our Fast Track, we ask that you be able to commit to the 3 days a week and time scheduled for the whole month. If class needs to be canceled due to weather or a pool closure then you will receive a makeup and we will reschedule that class the same week so your child doesn’t miss out on their 3 days a week. These lessons do not go past the month paid to prevent overbooking.
